What was the author's purpose or purposes in writing this book? Personally, I feel that the author just wanted to portray a different side of the Roman Empire. So many books talks about the war (yes this one does also) but there is more to the book than war. It shows friendship. It allows readers to imagine a time when there is not enough information available.
If you could continue the story, what events would you include? This book does not need any additional information added. It was perfect.
Tell in your own words the beginning of the book. The story starts out with Titus telling readers his age and that he is going to relay his memories from war. Titus is proud that he only has war wounds covering the front of his body and no flog marks on his back.
Describe what is happening in the first illustration in the book Titus quickly jumps into the war story between Afranius and Petreius.
Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author.
